Sports Sites Are Way Behind With Social Media And SEO

As a bit of a sports enthusiast I spend a fair amount of time on sports websites such as Wimbledon, US Open, Arsenal and Sky Sports.  One of the things I’ve noticed is that the majority of these sites are not embracing either SEO or social media, the only reason for that I can think of, is that they are just happy relying on their brand to generate traffic and keep users interested.  Given the huge technology budgets of some of these websites, could they be doing more? At last after about a year of saying I'm going to start a blog, its finally here!  My blog would have be launched earlier but its been an extremely busy year, mainly as I brought a flat with my girlfiend and thats taken up a huge amount of my time - it's surprising difficult to furnish a flat when you have nothing.  Well thats all finished now (well almost) so I've got some time to devote to all the things I've been meaning to do over the last year or so.
